Empowering Children To Reach Their Full Potential
Southern Hope Therapy Associates provides family centered, whole child treatment to help your child reach their full potential. We use evidence based, data driven therapy approaches that are developed and implemented based on your child’s individual needs.
Southern Hope Therapy Associates was founded by Kristin Fryman, speech language pathologist. Kristin has worked as an SLP for over 20 years. She received her bachelors degree in communication sciences and disorders from Penn State University and her masters degree in speech language pathology from the University of Colorado. Kristin then went on to complete her clinical fellowship year at Georgetown, in Washington, DC where she had the opportunity to serve children who were homeless or living in transitional housing, as well as provide evaluations for families involved in the international adoption process.
Kristin continued working in various settings across the United States as she followed her husband through his career in the Navy. This included clinical settings where she had the opportunity to work with transdisciplinary teams, including OT, PT, music therapy, and educators. Kristin had the unique opportunity to work in a pediatric psychiatric hospital where she worked with inpatient and outpatient populations of children with autism and developmental disabilities, pediatric populations with significant behavior disorders, children with obsessive compulsive disorders, and children dealing with trauma. This setting allowed Kristin to work with other professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, behavioral specialists, and occupational therapists to formulate a whole child treatment plan.
Kristin has also worked for large and small school districts around the US, most recently working for Clarke County Schools as her family has settled in Georgia. Kristin has extensive experience with early intervention, working with children with autism, apraxia, developmental delays, and other childhood speech and language disorders. She lives in Oconee county with her husband, two high school children, and three dogs.
